Inside the report

Our summary of the Cool Vendor report — and why it still describes the platform today.

Gartner's analysts opened with the reason for the designation: Anonos enables the creation of "nonidentifying, yet personalized, data." That paradox — data that protects identity while keeping its analytic value — is the problem Anonos was founded to solve, and the report described exactly how the platform solves it: it "protects the identity of the data subject while enabling the use, sharing, comparing and computing of data between multiple parties."

Different tokens at different times, for different purposes, and at different locations — is what Gartner singled out, and it is the same advanced tokenization that powers the platform today. The report went on to describe the protected outputs, Variant Twins, which Gartner's analysts found reduce the risk of linkage attacks to near zero while re-identification is prevented outside authorized use cases — protection that never strands the data, because authorized use continues under policy control.
